“…snappy and lifted with bright lemongrass, white grapefruit, flint, and tropical fruit. Clean and inviting…a lovely wine…”
Gold Medal & 92 points - 2024 Sunset International Wine Competition
We had a cool growing year that started with a wet and cold Spring. This cool and wet weather led to a late budbreak. All things being later, we started the Bucher Vineyard Pinot Noir Harvest on September 11, almost 3 weeks later than normal, and we didn’t start picking for Bucher Wines until September 18th. This Sauvignon Blanc was picked on October 6 and the extended time on the vines led to great complexity and flavor in the wine.
Delicate aromas of lemon zest, white floral, and traces of fresh cut grapefruit belie the striking layers of luscious flavors to follow. The bright entry reveals mouthwatering acidity that is beautifully balanced by a round, rich texture. Enjoy Meyer lemon and Pomelo laced with traces of fresh herbs, green apple, ginger, and tropical fruit. Threads of fresh lemon and a saline minerality linger in the finish, encouraging the next sip of this refreshing, elegant wine.
