2023 Grenache Russian River Valley

2023 Grenache Russian River Valley
Tasting Notes

This robust Grenache begins with seductive dark aromatics of vine-ripened black raspberry and mulberry. On the palate, a concentrated core of brambly wild blackberry and red raspberry merge with dried strawberry and traces of white pepper, dried thyme and blood orange. The solid structure and a touch of spiciness appear as the intense, delicious flavors linger.

Winemaker's Notes

The 2023 growing in the Russian River Valley was defined by unique weather patterns that created an exceptional vintage. Morning fog and coastal breezes kept the vines cool, resulting in slow ripening and extended hang time that pushed harvest dates much later than usual. Overall, 2023 was an outstanding year in the Russian River Valley, with wines showing elegance, aromatic complexity, freshness, and concentration that reflect the benefits of this extended, cool growing season.
