Northbay Biz Interviews John Bucher
John Bucher is the owner and operator of Bucher Farms, an organic family-run farm with 700 dairy cows in Healdsburg. He also owns Bucher Vineyard, which grows and provides Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes to several notable Sonoma County wineries. Bucher is a North Bay native who’s had three different addresses in his life—all on Westside Road in Healdsburg, where he currently lives on the Bucher family farm with his wife, Diane, and three of their five children.
On the Wine Road
Jeff Davis, author of On the Wine Road, recently spent an early, early morning helping bring in the Bucher harvest of 2016. Below is an interview with John & Diane and winemaker Adam Lee that Jeff recorded for his Podcast during his hands-on experience with us. Enjoy!
C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop on their “2015 LCV Cities Tour” in Santa Rosa, California, from September 12-17, 2015 to feature the history and literary life of the community. John was selected as one of the folks interviewed during the history tour.
In a recent Wine Enthusiast article, “Making Sense of the Russian River Valley” by Virginie Boone, John was interviewed and quoted in the section on the Middle Reach (the region of the valley where we are located). The incredible photo of our Three Sixty Pinot featured between Williams Selyem and Rochioli is from the article.
On August 15, 2015, the San Francisco Chronicle ran an article entitled, “Years of drought causing early harvest in Wine County.” John Bucher is quoted in the article, and all of the photos used were taken at Bucher Vineyard during our Pinot Noir harvest. Check out this link to read the article and be sure to look at the slide show at the bottom of the article.
